Independence Day Giveaway!

Today, we thank the countless men and women who have served our nation and preserved our quality of life, as well as the families they leave behind. On Sept. 23, civilians have a unique chance to see the inside of Great Lakes Naval Base, the home of basic training for America's Navy. The Fort2Base Race has two distances, 11.5 miles and 3.45 miles, both of which end on the base. If you'd like to race it for FREE, now is your chance. In addition to a free entry to either distance race, I'll throw in a Fort2Base prize pack featuring:

  • A Fort2Base SpiBelt
  • A Fort2Base BondiBand
  • Your choice of a light- or dark-blue Fort2Base long-sleeve technical shirt (the shirts are awesome!)
  • FRS energy shots
  • FRS energy chews
Fort2Base Race Pack Giveaway Rules
  1. One reader will receive a free entry to the Fort2Base Race and a prize pack.
  2. This giveaway is open to anyone who can make it to the race on Sept. 23.
  3. Required to enter the giveaway: comment and tell me what you're doing for Independence Day.
  4. For a bonus extra entry: Like Fort2Base on Facebook (let me know if you do).
  5. For a bonus extra entry: Follow Fort2Base on Twitter (let me know if you do).
  6. This giveaway is open until 5:00 PM CST on Wednesday, July 11. I will announce the winner on Thursday, July 11.

Awesome giveaway! I ran this race last year and would love to do it again.

For Independence Day, I am going on a run... then we don't have any plans. Just chilling and spending time together! :)

Last night we went to see the Navy Band Great Lakes and during one of the songs they played all the different songs for the Navy, Army, Air Force, Cost Guard, etc. and different veterans from the audience stood up for their song. I thought that was really cool!

I ran this race and was hooked on it. Loved it and the atmosphere.
For Independence Day, I am running my first 5k and celebrating since I had surgery for breast cancer six weeks ago. Then, hanging with my dog and enjoying the day!

I ran this race last year and fell in love with it! It is great to see so many of our military out there and being recognized.

Hi! I've already "liked" the fort2base Facebook page and I just followed you. (LoveRonni). I'm chilling today, went to the movies earlier and at this very moment I am grilling dinner and partaking of a peach margarita. No fuss.

I ran the Tinley Park Stars and Stripes 5k to start off my Independence Day. Unfortunately, I had to work from 1-10pm after that. I already like F2B on Facebook and follow them on Twitter.

I liked Fort2base on twitter and facebook. I was in a local hometown race this spring where 4 young men from the military ran the entire 4 miles dressed in complete gear and full packs. When they crossed the finish line together, everyone stopped and applauded. It brought tears to my eyes.

On July 4th, I ran the Tinley Park 5k, had dinner with my parents, grandparents and nephew, then went and saw the TP fireworks.
