Thankful Thursday

I feel like it's so easy to let life's minor annoyances define our days. Traffic, spilled coffee, barking puppies, birds crapping on your car ... it's life.  My personal goal has been to transform non-productive emotions (anger, annoyance, frustration) into curiosity. It's a life-long pursuit that will take time, but until then, I try to find ways to be thankful for things that would normally annoy me.

I am thankful for dirty dishes because it means we have food to eat. I am thankful for the laundry that needs to be done because it means I have clothes to wear.
I am thankful for the cold I have, because it means my body is healing and getting stronger. It also means the seasons are changing, which is why my sinuses hurt. The trees are beautiful, though.
I am thankful for the housework that I need to do because I have a home to tidy up. I am thankful for the grocery shopping I have to do because I can afford to fill my cart. I am thankful for the pain in my foot because it's encouraging me to cross train. And I am thankful for the clothes that I'm finding to be too tight because it means that I've enjoyed a plethora of tasty treats (that one is still a hard sell).

How do you find ways to be thankful?

I am thankful for any run I am able to do! I know two runners who are not able to run any longer.

I love this! What great perspective!

I am thankful for being able-bodied, even when things really hurt! I am also thankful for having a career, even when things are ridiculously stressful in the office.
