A Few Photos From Today

It's been a busy 24 hours! It started with happy hour at work last night (my job is really cool).
Tim was in class, so I went to the pool last night to try and swim a mile. It took me 28 minutes. I'm not sure if that is good, bad or acceptable. I did get cramps in my feet again, which was unpleasant, to say the least.
This morning, after coffee, breakfast and general procrastination, I pulled on another pair of super awesome running pants, which I have dubbed Purple Rain.
Hell yeah. I ran six miles around a neighborhood in Schaumburg. I went to run at my beloved Busse Woods, but I realized the whole thing was snowy and icy. People were snowshoeing and cross country skiing, so it didn't appear like it was rife for running. Six miles later, I was feeling pretty awesome about my time. My overall pace was 8:42.
When I got home, I had a very official-looking package from the Queen.
And by Queen, I mean Jenny, the Crumpet who regularly tells dumb Americans that she didn't go to Kate and William's wedding because they didn't come to her wedding.  Napoleon was very excited, as he usually is when I get a package.
What's inside? Minions
They're handmade by Jenny's friend back in the UK. It's one of only a few things from Yorkshire that I'm a fan of. Thanks for the gift, Jenny! Stop by tomorrow for the recipe for these little globs of delight.

Aww! Those minions are cute! Are you going to try snoeshowing and cross country skiing in Busse? :)

Yay! I'm Jenny's friend from the UK (the minion maker). I'm so glad they reached you safely.
Love your blog.
