Take Time Tuesday Part 3

Live Half Full
We all have a lot to be thankful for today. I did not blog last night because I didn't have anything unique to contribute and didn't want to jump on a bandwagon just because. I was busy working with Katie, the mind behind Take Time Tuesday, over what we can do to help the victims of the Boston Marathon explosions. We're planning on hosting a charity 5K in June and you can like the page on Facebook to receive updates as they become available.

My heart goes out to all those runners, spectators and volunteers in Boston. Those people spent years getting fit enough to qualify for Boston, then woke up thinking they were going to run the race they've dreamed of. Some never finished, and some may not run again. Some volunteers just wanted to contribute to the history and party that is the Boston Marathon. I'm afraid that races might not be the same again.

But we are runners, and whether you run a 6-minute mile or a 20-minute mile, we stick together. No one gets left behind. We will rally and preserve the spirit of the marathon - the triumphs in the midst of pain, the coming together of strangers to accomplish something amazing.

Join me, join Katie and join the Chicago Running Bloggers in helping Boston to heal.

I am pumped for the 5K. It's nice to be able to do something as runners to help out. Like the other commenters, let me know if there's anything you need help with.
