Three Things Thursday

1. I had a very cool post planned for today and was documenting my day with photos, notes and tweets to incorporate into a "day in the life"-style article. Alas, it got all Twister outside, literally raining on my plans. I had to make a magical two-hour journey to my office, only to find that we closed shop because of a power outage and flooding. I got some cool photos, though, and was able to retrieve my work laptop.
Don't get jealous, but my office has a lake view now.
2. You know what makes traveling through the harrowing weather better? A puppy, a latte and sweats. I busted out a new lounge outfit my mom gave me for Christmas and Tim had coffee waiting when I returned (he also has to work from home today ... it's a good thing I've been working on my rowing at CrossFit because I might need it).
Your formulas don't account for noms, mom.
3. My quest to complete a CrossFit WOD as prescribed (RX) continues. Today's workout was written to include 65 pounds. I couldn't even finish the first set and had to drop down to 55 pounds. So. Close.
How am I the only doing the workout modified? Argh.

I am sorry you traveled all the way to work to have to turn around. I wish I would have picked up a latte at Target.

Who is this person who stole my name under your name. ;)

Sounds like you worked hard at CrossFit! (I'm too terrified to even attempt it. ;)) The roads were seriously crazy in Chicagoland today. I was lucky--I had to drive through a few inches of standing water, but I was able to make it to work. But, all of my favorite running paths are flooded now, which I'm bummed about. They'll dry out soon, I hope. :)
