Basically how I feel right now |

I'm counting on this weekend to recharge my batteries. On Saturday, all of our work for the Run for Boston 5K will come to fruition: it's race day! We were slated to finish stuffing packets tonight, but the storm of the century is rolling right in. We have just a few last-minute touches and preparations to make, and then we're on to show what we're made of.

Before a 40-mile ride on the trainer |

I've made the strategic decision to not wearing my clipless pedal shoes for the race. For a sprint, I think I'll lose more time changing shoes that what I'll gain with the pedals. I wore regular shoes for the Leaning Tower Tri and that turned out pretty awesome. I'll skip the wetsuit for the same reason and leave those for the Olympic-distance tri I'm tackling at the end of the month.
Until then, this storm is the perfect excuse to take the evening off from training and spend time chilling. I may even have a cocktail. Here's to getting my mojo back.

I, for one, am looking forward to a rest day because of the Run for Boston - this Saturday will be the first that I didn't have to do a long run in months! You need to recharge a little from time to time, especially after something like Ragnar! Enjoy staying in because of the storm tonight :)
i picture you saying this with your Best Austin Powers accent! I've lost my mojo!
Take a night to be a normie again! Then the next day remember how awesome you are doing all these big life events, knowing when you are older you won't look back and say...I wish I had..
looking forward to Saturday! It will be great to see you again!
My favorite line of this post "You get to a point where double workouts don't feel nearly as bad ass anymore and just feel like ass." Been there. It gets to the point where I feel like all I do is work and workout and I don't even have time to cook. Boiling noodles even seems too difficult. I took both Sunday and Monday off this week. Too off days in a row felt like a sin in HIM training, but I knew I needed it. I just kept telling myself "A stitch in time, saves nine." I knew giving myself a break would be better than dealing with burnout a few days later.
rest day? I have been taking a rest week. Sometimes you just need to catch up on sleep and drinking. Good luck at your Tri, you crazy girl!
I haven't run since my last leg of Ragnar. Granted, I've been spending my freetime packing, so it's the perfect excuse. But rest is a good thing!
Also, you have A LOT going on right now... Ragnar, training for a half Ironman, planning a race, settling into a new job ... that's a lot! I think after the half Ironman you should take a rest month.
