How to Pack Up Sweaty Gym Clothes

I've written about how to pack the perfect gym bag, as well as what to do when showering isn't an option. However, another nuance of my frequent gym visits is dealing with the aftermath. During the winter, I have to worry about my sweaty outfits freezing, and during the summer, I try to prevent the stuff from stinking up the entire car. Triathlon life is glamorous, no?

Anyhow, there is, in fact, an ideal way to deal with your duds after a sweatfest at the gym.

First, shirt goes down on the ground, follow by socks, headband, shorts and sports bra.

Roll that stuff up and place back in the bottom of the locker while you get your post-workout shower on.

Then, roll up the dirty clothes inside your used towel. Place the whole sweaty sausage into a giant plastic bag, stuff in the gym bag and tote home.

Then, all you have to do is dump the contents of the bag directly into your hamper or wash machine. Fin.

I have this problem less now since I live so close to the gym that i can walk (and just shower at home)...but it still is good to know when I workout on vacation or on trips!
