Win it Wednesday: Rip Van Wafels

Remember when I went to the trade show and met Sasquatch and a giant Oreo? At that same trade show I met Rip, the mind behind Rip Van Wafels. This kid is a straight up marketing mastermind and his product is pretty awesome too. I eat a ton of snacks and treats and consume enough coffee to ensure I'll fit in well with the Seattle crowd, yet I've never seen a product quite like this.

It's pretty simple: the company creates these little wafer-like waffles that balance perfectly over your coffee mug. Fill up with your favorite variety of morning brew, add a wafel on top and let the steam of your cooling coffee heat the wafel. The wafel captures the subtle aromas of your coffee along the way, eventually heating up to a caramel-filled delicious treat.

But it's more than that. Waiting for the wafel to heat up (and your coffee to cool) forces you to take a break. To be more mindful and less crazy. To just sit and think, rather than guzzling down burning coffee and move onto the next thing. I certainly need more reflection in my life, so I loved the concept before I even tried the product.

Luckily, the wafels are just as awesome as the marketing. Currently the company offers two varieties - traditional and cocoa. I've tried both and think the traditional is my favorite for the type of coffee I drink. I prefer lighter roasts and the caramel-filled wafels seem to augment this flavor the best.

If you want to find out for yourself, enter now. One lucky winner will get a case of each wafel to try. Rafflecopter will randomly select a winner next week, so keep entering until then.

May the odds be ever in your favor!

I don't think I'd have the motivation to ride half as much as I do without coffee!

Those look DELISH! What a genius idea really... I drink 2 cups a day first thing in the morning as I answer emails before I get ready to go to work. It's my "power hour"!

1-2 cups of coffee a day. It's just so good!

I don't drink coffee (I know!) but I do drink one cup of hot tea every day around 10:30 AM. I wonder what chai or french vanilla would do to these. I think I need to win so I can experiment.

I try to keep it to a cup a day or less. But then I go to DD and get a giant iced coffee and don't feel guilty at all.
