Training Tuesday

My oh my, where does the time go? I'll tell you: into the time suck that is unpacking and cleaning and working and living.

So I pedal along through training and life and hope for the best. I'm a little more than a month out from the Ironman and have my reservations, but now's the time to soldier on.

Last weekend, Alyssa and I biked two loops of the course, which amounted to a little less than 80 miles. Dare I say ... it was fun? Yes, the Madison Ironman bike course is quite hilly, but the downhill portions were downright exhilarating. I clocked more than 40 miles per hour on some of these stretches and only thought I'd die like twice. As intimidated as I was rolling into the course from all the fancy cars and fancier bikes, I felt like I held my own throughout the ride and felt pretty good doing it too.

My legs felt well enough after that to clock 14 miles on the run the next morning. Fourteen pleasant, curse-word free miles through the woods at dawn. I was a very happy girl.

I followed it up with 35 miles on the trainer Monday morning and a six-mile run at lunch. Then went to the pool this morning to find out it had ebola. Just kidding. Sort of. It's closed through the end of the week.
LA Fitness, y u mock me

Win some, lose some.

Back at it again tomorrow, and hammering at it for the next month.
