Three Things Thursday

1. My first 5K was exactly four years ago today. I wore the cotton T-shirt and $11 sneakers from Steve and Barry's and legitimately thought I might die. It took me 33 minutes. My how everything has changed.

2. Last week my running shoes literally fell apart while I was running. They were a half-mile shy of 300 miles, so I guess we now know the exact shelf live of Saucony Kinvaras. I found a nearly identical pair on Amazon and had that prime shipped to me because Kelly without running is the worst possible version of me.

3. I order a lot of stuff on Amazon and am endlessly amused by the packaging of clothing items from foreign countries. I don't usually wash things with soup, but OK. I'll get right on that.

I always wash my cloth in soup ;)

I wonder if your shoe issue is just Saucony. I've gone through two pairs of Fastwitch, which have done the same thing. The first time, the shoes had less than 100 miles and my running store exchanged them. The second time, I taped them.

I have that same shirt, because I also did the Itasca Oktoberfast 5K with my entourage. I won my age group. Still have the medal!

Happy Race-iversary! Good thing you have new shoes to celebrate with!

Never wash with spicy soup, only mild.

But I really like the spicy soup, Pete, what do I do?

Thanks, Lindy!

If you must wash your clothes with spicy soup, use spicy water as well. Also using cold beer as a fabric softener wouldn't be a bad idea in order to counteract all that spice.

Wash, rinse, repeat. Remind me not to eat leftovers at your house.
