Win it Wednesday: $50 at Vin Chicago

Remember my super awesome experience at Vin Chicago this weekend? It seemed selfish to keep this experience to myself, so I'm sharing it with one lucky reader who will net a $50 gift card to check out any location themselves. I'd highly recommend signing up for Vin Chicago's newsletter so you can preview what you'll see in stores, and definitely go on a Saturday to enjoy the tastings. Also, if you're not sure what to buy or what pairs well, just ask the staff. They'll be happy to recommend a wine for tacos or scallops or spaghetti or chocolate. And if you're buying for a party or friend, the tasting notes they'll send you via e-mail will ensure you can pass along the cool stories you hear in the store with expert care.

Ready to win(e)? This giveaway is limited to readers living within Illinois, which is where Vin Chicago can deliver. The gift card is valid online, or at any of their retail locations. Enter below and Rafflecopter will randomly select a winner on Oct. 15.

Price is a big factor for me. I don't feel like I need to spend alot to enjoy wine.

I consider the type and taste and keep the occasion or food pairing in mind when selecting wines.

Price, for sure. But I also know which varietals I like. I almost always go for a pinot noir or a malbec depending on what mood I'm in.

I look for great deals, and great reviews by others who have sampled the wines. I'm still learning wine. I have a little wine blog that I blog on occasionally, but still learning new things about wine every day!

Twist my arm, I'd take some free wine :) Price is important, but honestly I just go for the coolest bottles. It hasn't really failed me yet.

I go for wines made with our favorite varieties. Price is important, but not over-riding.

I go for favorite varieties. Price is important, but not the most important aspect.

I try to choose from areas I know have made good wines, like Paso Robles for reds.

I look for a reasonable price and also a cool looking bottle. Because that is how you pick a good wine.
