1. Napoleon had an early teeth cleaning last week, because now I'm paranoid about keeping up with it. He did not enjoy it one bit. He was so high on the ride home that he didn't even attempt to look out the window. But it's for his own good, even if he doesn't agree.
2. I've never had a fireplace before this home, and it's getting a workout. I see why it's the height of luxury to be able to turn on an indoor fire with the flip of a switch. Smores on demand!
3. Ah, the things I do for my stepkids. Z still very much believes in fairies, and writes them notes regularly. In turn, I write very tiny little notes that I fold intricately and sneak into her room and wedge behind the fairy door while she's sleeping. It's not forever, but I hope she never loses that sense of wonderment. It's been a good exercise in resolve, too, since her friends don't believe her and she's sticking with what she believes.
