Win it Wednesday: Allied Medal Display Review and Giveaway

Happy National Running Day!  I'm planning to celebrate with a run later. I love running for a variety of reasons - it's a fun community full of people working to improve themselves. It also allows me to eat more chocolate and peanut butter. Occasionally, it also means I get to snag sweet medals.

I know some people just put their race medals in a box, never to be seen again. I run for the bling because it's a tangible reminder of what I've accomplish. I earned those medals and I'm proud of them, which is why I'm delighted to share this week's giveaway.
Before
I've long used a homemade medal holder that's just two knob hangers from IKEA. Except after the Run River City Marathon relay, it was full and IKEA stopped making these hooks.
First medal I ever earned
My most recent medal

Installation
Allied Medal Displays was so kind as to provide me with a shiny new medal holder for my ego wall, and it really is quite a beauty. It's cut stainless steel and comes in a variety of sizes, images and inspirational phrases. I went with the "Always Earned, Never Given" model and it arrived at my house in a few short days.

It wasn't difficult to install, but I did have Tim help me. Essentially, you pre-drill holes, add wall anchors, then screw the holder in place with spacers between the medal and the wall. This allows you to slide your medals right on there for display.

I opted for a 30" single-bar option, which holds up to 30 medals. I wish I would have gone bigger because Allied makes double and triple bar options that accommodate a lifetime of medals. As it is, there's plenty of room to grow on my model, though (which is great, because I hear the Ragnar Relay medal is awesome).
After!
They also make sport-specific holders, so you can always get one for each race distance or type, if you're a super active athlete.

The winner of this giveaway will net their choice of medal holders up to $70 in retail value (which means you could totally get my medal holder in the three-bar option).

This giveaway will end on Wednesday, June 12, so get to entering now. Mandatory: Check out the Allied Medal Displays site and comment with which display you would choose.

Love this! I have always wanted a medal holder. Right now I'm using one of those accordion looking metal coat hangers that you put on the top of the door.

The "My Running Bling" with the stars is so cute!! I already have three medal holders from Allied but,uh, other than the 26.2 one they are all full. So either I have to just run marathons or I have to get another holder.

I like the 50 state's half marathon one as that is my goal, but I have some repeat states/medals for non-halfs... hmm... I also like the Relentless Forward Progress. Or I Crossed the Line. Okay, so I like them all.

I really like those medal hangers! I've been toying with the idea of making one DYI but I might throw that idea out the window now.
I would either get the "Fear no distance" or "you don't know until you tri" but the "give a girl a great pair of shoes" one is pretty tempting too!
